Thank you for your interest in registering for the CDA Course at The Carey Institute. The Carey Institute offers high quality, convenient CDA training that exceeds the Council for Professional Recognition's requirement for subject area training. Our Master Instructors are knowledgeable and professional and hold the Council for Professional Recognition's CDA PD Specialist Credential. Your decision to pursue your Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) proves that you take pride in your role as an Early Childhood Educator and you are willing to embark on a journey of learning how to effectively care for and educate young children  

The cost for our CDA session is $675.00 (see our payment schedule below). This cost includes 120 hours of formal online early childhood education training, including 21.5 OHIO APPROVED (OA) training hours, orientation, small group work and application sessions, the CDA Essentials loaner textbook, support and assistance with your CDA Professional Portfolio, PD Specialist and CDA application. Your CDA application fee is $425.00 payable to the Council for Professional Recognition. You may be eligible for the T.E.A.C.H Scholarship. If eligible, this scholarship will pay $375.00 of the $425.00 application fee. Contact T.E.A.C.H at [email protected] for more information. Employment at your center for a minimum of 6 months is a T.E.A.C.H requirement.

Please be reminded that there are several steps that you must take to complete this process and receive your CDA. The most critical steps are those that you are individually responsible for. These steps include attending all training sessions, completing tasks as assigned, properly preparing for your on-site observation and exam and achieving passing scores on your verification visit and exam. Your $75.00 registration will be deducted from your payment and will hold your seat until date indicated. Your payment in full or your first payment is due two weeks before the session begins.
